• A Grasshopper in My Bedroom

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow through the open window, young Oliver prepared for bed. With his pyjamas on and his favourite teddy nestled under his arm, he slid beneath the covers, ready for the soft lullabies of the night. But just as he closed his eyes, a peculiar sound filled the air—a faint but rhythmic chirping that echoed through his room.

Curious, Oliver sat up and peered through the dim light. To his astonishment, he spotted a little grasshopper perched delicately on the edge of his bedside table. Its vibrant green body shimmered in the twilight, and its long antennae danced gracefully as it chirped its evening song.

"Hello there," Oliver whispered, his voice barely above a breath. "What are you doing in my bedroom?"

The grasshopper paused, as if acknowledging the little boy's presence. It seemed to survey its surroundings, perhaps as startled as Oliver himself. With a gentle leap, it hopped onto the nearby pillow, its tiny legs bouncing with energy.

Oliver chuckled, captivated by this unexpected visitor. "Would you like to join me for a bedtime story?" he asked, as if the grasshopper could understand him perfectly. He reached for his well-worn book, the pages soft and inviting, and began to read aloud, the chirping becoming a harmonious soundtrack to his words.

As the story unfolded, Oliver felt a sense of wonder. The grasshopper, listening intently, seemed to dance along to the rhythm of his voice. Together, they embarked on whimsical adventures, exploring enchanted forests and meeting fantastical creatures—all while the stars twinkled outside and the moon settled comfortably in the night sky.

In that moment, their hearts filled with imagination, Oliver knew that this was no ordinary bedtime. And perhaps, just perhaps, the grasshopper was meant to be part of this tale, reminding him that magic could be found in the most unexpected places.
